J-MAX’s history since its foundation in July 1952 as Marujun Seiki Industrial Company, a manufacturer of automotive press dies.

  • Jul.
    Founded in Hayashi-machi, Ogaki-City,
    Gifu by Yorio Imagawa as
    "Marujun Seiki Industrial Company" to start the manufacture of automobile press dies.
  • Mar.
    Received an order from Pacific Industrial Co., Ltd.
    for press dies for the radiator grill of
    TOYOTA’s first Crown.
  • Apr.
    Relocated to Minaminokawa-Cho, Ogaki-City,
    allowing the manufacture of large dies.
  • Jan.
    Established Marujun Seiki Industrial Co., Ltd.
  • Mar.
    Established Shinden Plant in Shinden-Cho,
    Ogaki-City to start
    manufacturing automobile press parts.
  • Apr.
    Started business with Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
    for press dies for automobile parts.
  • Mar.
    Received an order for press parts from Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
    for the HONDA 1300 Coupe and started manufacturing.
  • Aug.
    Opened Asanishi Plant
    in Asanishi-Cho, Ogaki-City, Gifu.
  • Sep.
    Attained success in revolutionizing the method of production of timing belt pulleys with our sheet pressing process and initiated mass production.
  • Apr.
    Opened the Tochigi office (now our R&D center) in Utsunomiya-City, Tochigi.
  • Feb.
    Opened Yoro Plant in Kamiishizu-Cho, Ogaki-City, Gifu to integrate the R&D department and computer services.
  • Sep.
    Started supply of press sheet-metal parts to Mitsubishi Motors Corporation.
  • Nov.
    Started supply of press sheet-metal parts to Toyota Auto Body Co., Ltd.
  • Jul.
    Founded THAI-MARUJUN Co., Ltd. in Ayuttaya,
    Thailand and launched the manufacture and
    sale of automobile body
    framework press parts and dies.
  • May.
    Established Kamiishizu FRP Plant (current Kamiisizu Plant) in Kamiishizu-Cho, Ogaki-City, Gifu for the manufacture of FRP products (bathtubs, waterproof pans, kitchen counters, automotive parts, etc.) in view of future advances into the automobile parts market.
  • May.
    Renamed as MARUJUN Co., Ltd.
    according with the expansion of business domain.
  • May.
    Opened Kamiishizu Die Plant (current Kamiishizu Plant) in Kamiishizu-Cho, Ogaki-City.
  • Jan.
    Asanishi Plant obtained ISO9002 Certification.
  • Feb.
    Listed in the 2nd Section of the Nagoya Stock Exchange.
  • Apr.
    Head Office, Asanishi Plant, and U-Tech Plant acquired ISO-14001 Certification.
  • Apr.
    Kamiishizu Plant and U-Tech Plant obtained ISO9001 Certification.
  • Sep.
    Precision Parts Department at Yoro Plant acquired ISO-9001 Certification.
  • Jan.
    Relocated Tochigi R&D Center
    (current Technical Center)
    to the Haga Industrial Park for
    the expansion of operations.
    (2017 January Moved to Utsunomiya-City, Tochigi)
  • Mar.
    Kamiishizu Parts Plant obtained ISO9002 Certification and all plants acquired ISO-9000 Series Certification.
  • Nov.
    Established Guangzhou Marujun Co., Ltd. in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China and launched the manufacture and sale of automobile body frameworks, functional press parts and dies.
  • Dec.
    Built and relocated to a new U-Tech plant with
    the business expansion.

  • Mar.
    Obtained full ownership of Honda Yonrin-Hanbai Marujun, an automobile sales company, as a subsidiary of MARUJUN Co., Ltd.

  • Apr.
    Entered into a technical assistance agreement regarding metal molds with Push Die & Mold Co., Ltd, which is an affiliated company of the WuLiengYe Group in Yibin-City, Sichuan, China.(2009 December Finished)
  • Aug.
    Introduced 3,000t transfer presses and 800t blanking presses in the expanded Kamiishizu Factory to deal with the shift to high-tensile steel plates.
  • Oct.
    Established Wuhan Marujun Co., Ltd. in Wuhan City, Hubei, China as a second production base to start the manufacture and sale of automobile body press parts.
  • Oct.
    Acquired capital in TOMASCO Indiana Corporation. in Indiana, USA.
  • Jan.
    In order to improve the management efficiency of the whole group, the Marujun Shinden GIC Building was completed by integrating headquarters operations and renovating the showroom at Honda Yonrin-Hanbai Marujun.(2017 March Sold the GIC Building)
  • Mar.
    Implemented allocation of one million shares to Honda Motor Co., Ltd. as a third party to become an affiliate.(2013 December Eliminated affiliate)
  • May.
    Relocated Wuhan Marujun Co., Ltd. to the newly established plant.
  • Jul.
    Acquired capital in the establishment of BESTEX・MM・INDIA PRIVATE LTD. in India.
  • Jun.
    Into a subsidiary company TOMASCO Indiana Corporation, to change its name to Indiana Marujun Corporation.(2017 March Business stopped)
  • Oct.
    Opened Saitama Plant in Tsurugashima-City, Saitama.(2018 February Factory closure)
  • Apr.
    Headquarters moved to Kamiishizu-Cho, Ogaki-City, Gifu.
  • Jun.
    We concluded a capital and business alliance with Topre Corporation and became on equity-method company of Topre Corporation.
  • Nov.
    Capacity was expanded at the Kamiishizu Plant and a 3,000t transfer press installed.
  • Mar.
    Listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange
  • Jul.
    Renamed as J-MAX Co., Ltd.
